So we have returned to the planet Not-Hoth. There is a new couple trying to find love on an alien planet. There are some callbacks to the previous book, Ice Planet Barbarians. Because this book starts where the previous one left off, it helps set the scene for this book. This week’s book is a fun fantasy romance. We will be going over Barbarian Alien by Ruby Dixon.

Liz is trying to come to terms with the fact that she was not only kidnapped by aliens but is now dying on an alien planet. The planet Not-Hoth is not hospitable, and to survive, they have a parasite implanted in their bodies. Liz is fine with dying; it’s an honest response. While waiting for the massive blue alien men to get the parasite, Liz realizes that one of the alien warriors can’t stop watching her. Raahosh is a loner who prefers a solitary life. There is one problem. His parasite wants Liz. Not thinking clearly, afraid that someone else will claim Liz, Raahosh kidnaps Liz while everyone is preoccupied.
This time alone allows Raahosh and Liz to get to know each other. Raahosh comes to understand Liz’s personality, and Liz comes to understand how she actually feels about Raahosh. During the weeks they are together, their respect and love grow. They cohabitate in their happy bubble until they are discovered. Their happiness is put to the test when Raahosh has to be punished for kidnapping Liz. Using her stubbornness as a weapon, Liz lets everyone know that she is not only willing to stand by her man but also to fight for their future.
The author made the fact that the aliens’ bodies are very different from humans almost a non-issue. As the women come to terms with this being their new way of life, they realize that things are going to be vastly different for them. While looking into this, I realized there are twenty-one books in this series. 😬 This will be my last book review for this series. I will continue reading the series, just on my Kindle.
