I love trying new places, especially new local places. My friend Michelle recently invited me to a new coffee shop that opened in the Roswell area. Of course, I said yes! If there is anything about me that you must know, know this: I love coffee. Since it was only a ten-minute drive from my home, I was definitely willing to go. The coffeeshop we went to is called Bizarre Coffee. I knew when I got there that it would be my type of place. In front of the building, the first thing I see is a purple door. I knew then that this would be my kind of place. From their website, I learn that it is a 100-year-old building. It has two levels, with seating on the second floor.

Walking up to the door, the first thing that we noticed was the line. It’s not to be expected that a new café in downtown Roswell would have a line. Granted, we got there around lunchtime. Since my friend wanted to get some work done, we knew that we would have to find seats and a power source. Inside, there was plenty of seating. Right away, we found seats and a power source for her laptop. Because of the line, she stayed seated while I was in line. This gave the chance to look around and see what was going on. The first thing I noticed was that, even though it was their opening week, the place was packed. All the employees wore smiles and didn’t mind answering questions. As someone who has worked in retail, I can tell you that this was a good sign.
Once I ordered, I grabbed my number and sat down. With as many people as were in there and the line being long, I figured we would have to wait a while. To my pleasant surprise, it couldn’t have been more than 5 minutes before they brought our drinks. Not much longer after that, they brought out our food. I ordered the caramel drizzle with the avocado-turkey BLT. My friend got the matcha latte with the holy smokes.

Everything was delicious. The BLT was one of the best that I have had in a while. It had smoky chili aioli with just the right amount of spice to bring everything together. The coffee I ordered was smooth and full of flavor, without being overpoweringly sweet. I like my coffee sweet, but not so much that it feels like I am going into shock. The only bad thing was not even something the café did. While in line, two ladies complained the whole time. I want people to use their social graces; this is a new place in an area with a lot of business and families. The first week won’t be 100% smooth sailing.
If you are in the Roswell, Georgia area, stop by!
