Now that Thanksgiving has passed, we are officially in the holiday season. It is one of my favorite times of the year. Family and friends come together to be merry and festive. Giving and receiving gifts also don’t hurt. 😜 I love to attend different holiday activities around Atlanta. This past week, I had the chance to attend the Atlanta Botanical Gardens Holiday Lights celebration. This was my first time going, and it was a wonderful time.
This activity was one that I got to do with my family. We got to experience the Garden Lights for the first time. It made the experience even more fun. First, I want to thank the couple that gave us the drink tickets they didn’t use when we walked in. 😜 From the moment we walked in, there were lights everywhere. Trees, bushes, buildings. I have to admit that Christmas lights are one of my favorite parts of the holidays. Seeing them and the different effects made the child in me so happy.
While walking around, we decided to use the drink tickets that we received. I got an apple pie, hot apple cider with cinnamon whisky. My aunt got hot chocolate with Irish cream. The servers were very heavy-handed with the alcohol. I’m not mad, but my apple cider put some hair on my chest. 😅 My favorite thing in the area was the rainlights hanging in the trees. The lights were coordinated with music. There were rainbows of light everywhere. Pictures could not do justice. I can tell that I was not the only one that felt this way. Plenty of people stopped to stare at the light show. It was very calming.
If you have been to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, you know there is much to see. You will be walking a lot. One of the things that I noticed was that some of the areas were closed off. This made the way more bearable. There was still a lot of walking. Being with family and having a warm drink made the time fly by. This is something that I would love to do again.
