Book Review: Praise by Sara Cate

It’s been a bit since I have read a very smutty book.  The previous books that I have read have been excellent but light on the smut.  This week’s book makes up for the lack.  While it’s not over-saturated, it makes up for it with some of the scenes.  This week’s review is Praise by Sara Cate.

Charlotte (Charlie) has just broken up with her boyfriend and moved back home.  When she goes to her ex-boyfriend about her half of the safety deposit, she’s informed that she would have to speak to his father about it.  Driving to her ex’s dad’s mansion, she is mistaken as a secretary / submissive applicant for Emerson Grant.  During this brief encounter, she finds that she likes how felt when Emerson gives her praise—title drop.   The encounter also leaves Emerson shocked. He finds that Charlotte is perfect for him. There is the issue that she’s his son’s ex.  I know some would find problems with the age gap in this book.  I feel like it is handled very well.  They mention it, but Charlotte, being Emerson’s son’s ex, is the bigger problem for them.

This book was an easy, fun read.  There is a lot of smut in here, and there are scenes that might be uncomfortable for some.  I find that books that have an intense BDSM theme fall into three categories: not the reader’s cup of tea, the reader loves it and reads a lot of this genre, or they lump it in with Fifty Shades of Grey. I am excited to read this series.  It’s something that I would recommend for people interested in this particular genre.
