Movie Review: Deadpool & Wolverine

One of the movies that I was excited about just came out, Deadpool & Wolverine.  One of the things that I love about Deadpool is that he does not take himself seriously.  He is known for doing a fourth wall break, both in the movies and the comics.  Ryan Reynolds has been known for playing the merc with the mouth for over fifteen years.  To the point, you don’t know when he is Deadpool or when he is himself.  This time, after years of jokingly bringing Hugh Jackman, Wolverine played Hugh Jackman in the film.  Hugh has played Wolverine since 2000.  He said he was done playing Wolverine when the movie Logan came out in 2017.  The amount of work that goes into him playing Logan is a lot, i.e., diets and workouts.

The movie starts several years after the second Deadpool movie.  One thing that I appreciated was that they showed Wade (Deadpool) at a low point.  While going through what can only be described as depression, he is summoned by the TVA.  To avoid spoilers, he has to work with Wolverine to help save the world.  If the TVA is involved, you know Deadpool is going through different dimensions.

At the time of writing this, there are SO MANY spoilers online. I’ve seen so many on TikTok that I have been telling people that I am glad I went on Thursday (pre-opening night) instead of opening day. I will say this: SO MANY GOOD CAMEOS. So many!!! The story was good overall. See it for yourself and have a good time watching the movie.
