This week’s book is the biggest one I have read in a while. For the longest time, I was reading on my Kindle. Having a book that was this heavy in my hands took some getting used to. I read the first book in this series, Twisted Love, and could not put it down. So, I decided to make my way through. I am glad I did; the book was delightful. This week’s book is the second book in the Twisted series, Twisted Games, by Ana Huang.

I noticed quickly that this isn’t a love-at-first-sight book, where in days, the protagonists realize that they are meant to be together. This story is told over a span of three to four years. In that time, you see them go from bodyguard and client to soul mates. Rhys Larson is the type of bodyguard that other bodyguards look up to. Princess Bridget Von Ascheberg of Eldorra is just trying to have as regular a life as possible. Her brother is next in line for the crown, and she is finishing her studies. Their first meeting was not what you would expect. They don’t like each other. Their distrust of each other turns into a healthy respect. Over time, they develop strong feelings for each other.
Right as it looks like everything is going great, a major problem comes up. How they get past this and their resolution together makes this book a wonderful read. There were some excellent twists and turns. Seeing the love between the two protagonists build made it feel like a Hallmark movie. Characters from the previous book appear, and the author gives small peaks into the last two books of this series. I would recommend this book.
