Going to See The Hawks

One thing about the family in Atlanta is that they are sports fans.  Occasionally, I get invited to go with them and joyfully accept.  I am not good at watching games at home and donโ€™t have the attention span for them.  It’s hard for me to focus on most things at home.  For example, now I have the TV on and am playing music. I am easily distracted.  Going to the games is different.  I am in the mix.  I can see the plays and get excited when my team makes a good play.  Itโ€™s an adrenaline rush.  I have been to football games, baseball games, and even a rugby game.  Besides soccer, there is one sport that I have not seen in person.  Basketball.  That was until recently.

Before this, I had never been inside the State Farm arena.  I was excited about the newness of the experience.  When I was growing up in Chicago, the Bulls were the team.  I was in high school when they were winning back-to-back championships.  Alas, I have never been to a professional basketball game.  My first experience with a professional sport happened when I moved to Atlanta.  With my family here being sport fans, they often go to games.  I am happy to tag along.

Watching the game was a wonderful experience.  I was able to experience the food and got a souvenir cup, as well as some merchandise.   I just found out that there are cheerleaders (not sure of their actual titles).  Their job was to get the crowd to cheer or chant during the game.  One of them had a fence cut out and yelled out defense!  There were more, but that one stood out.  Going to games is always fun because you have a good mix of people from both sides.  So far, both groups of fans have behaved well at the games I have been to. Thank goodness.

While I am not a sports fan, I always enjoy attending events. I can only speak for Atlanta, not other cities, but the experience was amazing. It makes going to sporting events something that even a non-sport fan would like.ย

I swear my pictures will get better. ๐Ÿ˜…
